metaSEED is dedicated to the analysis of the structure and function of seed-associated microbial communities in various plant species belonging to different plant families (Project overview [in French]).
The DynaSEEDBiome project is funded by the Research, Education & Innovation in Pays de la Loire . The main objective of this project is to investigate the functional potential of the seed microbiome and its dynamics during germination and emergence. The genetic content and the gene expression pattern of microbial assemblages associated to seeds, germinating seeds and seedlings from 3 different plant families (Fabaceae with bean, Apiaceae with carrot and Brassicaceae with radish) is currently analyzed by high-throughput shotgun sequencing.
The SEEDS project investigates the ecological and biological processes involved in assembly of microbial community during seed development. More specifically, we will monitor the succession pattern of microbial community during seed development of radish and bean through a combination of high-throughput culture-dependent and -independent approaches.
